Joey and Natalie – Bel Air Family Photographer

We had the immense pleasure of photographing these two adorable twins, Joey and Natalie, along with their Mom and Dad.

This beautiful brother and sister duo were right around 2 years old when they came in for their session and, once they warmed up to us, could not have been more fun. It was so great to see the two of them interact with one another and with Mom and Dad.

Seriously…how cute are they?!?!?

This family is so good looking and we had such a wonderful time working with them.

This precious little girl is Miss Juliet…

She came into the studio for three month photos with her Mom, Dad, and two older brothers. We will be seeing a lot more of Juliet this year as she will be a part of our Small Wonder program. Juliet was such a treat to have in the studio. Everything about her is so darling.

Clearly, her big brothers things she is pretty spectacular too!

This little cutie came with many options for outfits, which we love here at the studio. Way to go Mom! I couldn’t get over how cute one outfit was before I saw the next one that was even cuter!

We tried something a little different with our “baby parts” photos that we usually do for our newborns and infants. This time we tried a few comparison photos to show how teeny tiny those little baby parts actually are. I think we will be doing more of these in the future, as it is such a great way to remember how small they were when they were babies.

As we wrapped up the session, we were able to get a few great pictures of Mom and Dad with baby Juliet. These are so telling of their special bond with their new baby girl.

What a wonderful family! We so look forward to seeing Juliet grow over the course of the year and getting to spend more time with her and her family!

We were very pleased to be able to photograph these three handsome guys on October 11. Please meet Sammie, Marek, and Austin…

This was a very special session for this family, Grandma (or Ya-Ya as she is affectionately known by her grandsons) and her three children, and the three boys, were all present for this session. Marek and his Mommy were visiting from Japan, where they live, and the family wanted to use the visit as an opportunity to capture these boys playing together and enjoying each others company. The family knew that they wanted an outdoor session, so we met them at the beautiful Annie’s Playground in Fallston. It made the perfect setting and backdrop for a playful and completely enjoyable photo session.
Austin, 6 years old, was a perfect model and a total ham for the camera. He came prepared with his own poses and a willing attitude. He was so helpful in getting his little cousins to go along with our ideas and had a good time running around the playground looking for new places to pose!

The next oldest grandson is little Marek, he is 16 months old and traveled with his mom all the way from Japan for this session…well for a family wedding, but still!

And the youngest grandson is Sammie. This little guy made some of the cutest faces! He was a little too young to take part in all of the playing, since he’s only 11 months old, but I still think he enjoyed the fresh air and the little bit of playing he was able to do.

These three little guys were a lot of fun. They each had so much personality and were all so different! This is a beautiful family and we were very happy to be able to capture a few sweet moments between Ya-Ya and her grandboys!

Here are a few of the art pieces that we created for this wonderful family.

More portraits from the session can be seen in the video slide show we put together:
Owen – Bel Air Newborn Photographer

Meet little Owen…

This was our first time to meet this adorable little guy, at least in real life. We had the pleasure of taking photos of little Owen when he was still a Baby Bump and had a wonderful time getting to know Owen’s Mom and Dad, Susie and Sean. You can read more about their href=”http://www.shawngrimesphotography.com/2009/08/susie-and-sean-bel-air-maternity-photographer/”>maternity session .
We were so happy to finally get to meet this little bundle of joy and he was so much fun to have in the studio. Sure, he was a little fussy, but we were asking him to lay naked in some weird props, far away from the love and warmth of his Mama. Who wouldn’t be fussy?!?!? Either way, Owen was a treat to have in the studio and we were able to take some beautiful photos of him at only 12 days old.

In the studio, we were most excited that we would be able to try out some new props we bought just for our newborn sessions. Owen loved the bright colors of our new fringie and seemed to be quite comfortable once we got him situated in the new baby cocoon.

However, even new props can easily become second fiddle to a sweet, little newborn baby. Owen is so loved by his Mom and Dad, and not to mention his adoring Mom Mom, who also accompanied Owen on his first visit to the studio. But boy, that feeling is so contagious! He is such a cutie and so enjoyable, that I am sure he will make everyone swoon for him for years to come.

What a beautiful family! Susie and Sean are so lucky to have such a wonderful gift in little Owen. And Owen is so lucky to have such a wonderful Mom and Dad!

Here are some of the art pieces that were created for Owen’s session.

Some of those you may have seen before with our newborn sessions. But this next one is a new type of art piece for us. I love the two photos together, one showing Mom still pregnant with Baby, and the next showing Mom and Baby together at last! I think you can definitely look forward to seeing more of these in the future!

Sami’s Autumn Session – Bel Air Children’s Photographer

Well it was the beginning of September, and for us here at the studio, that meant another photo session with little Samantha. Sami is a repeat client here at the studio and she loves to come and visit us to see what new props we have for her to play with and what new fun things we have for her to take part in. You can see Sami’s other session here. Our last session with Sami was a total hit, and this one proved to be exactly the same!
During this session with Sami we wanted to try to get some Fall and Halloween pictures, and she was totally cooperative. We got to use our Halloween “Baby Legs” with her, and they were perfect for her!

I think she enjoyed this scene the best, since she got to enjoy a delicious lollipop!

For this scene, Mom brought a wonderful orange shirt for Sami to wear to match the leaves and the scarecrow. She could not have been any cuter! I love her rolled jeans and her cute little toes sticking out!

In addition to Fall and Halloween photos, Mom and Dad wanted some more Spring and Summer scenes as well. So we dug out some of our picnic props that we hadn’t gotten a chance to use yet. I think Sami’s favorite new props were the watering cans, although she was very particular about where they should be placed in the scene, which was not always where the adults thought they should be placed.

For a girl who LOVES to play dress up and wear fabulous clothing, these next few scenes could not have been more enjoyable!

Mom wanted a few photos of Sami in her swimsuit from this Summer, so of course we were happy to oblige. The “swim cap” is actually a cute little hat that we have on hand, and it worked wonderfully for this. Sami was not as cooperative for this scene, it took a little bribing and some bubble blowing to get her to “smile pretty for the camera”, but you would never know it from looking at these photos.

One of the newest additions to the studio was a new fabric backdrop, and we could not wait to use it with Miss Sami! As excited as we all were to use the new backdrop, Mom and Dad included, we could not have predicted that the results would have been as stunning, modern, fun, and cute as they are!

The last scene we did with a very tired Miss Sami was using another pair of Baby Legs and an extra special sock monkey, that coincidentally matched the Baby Legs perfectly!

What a great session with a total cutie…again! We are definitely going to see Miss Sami and her Mom and Dad back in the studio again before the year is over. As always, we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us then!
This is the art piece that I created for this photo session for Samantha. I love the colors of this one and it gives off such a girlie feeling, perfect for this girlie-girl!

Susie and Sean – Bel Air Maternity Photographer

Well it has been a few weeks now, but with vacations and the insanity that they bring, we are still trying to get all caught up. This post brings you Susie and Sean. This young, lovely couple are expecting their first child in September, a baby boy. Obviously, Susie and Sean came into the Aberdeen studio for maternity photos before their little guy arrives.

Susie’s mom, MaryGin, came to the studio for their session with them. She wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but knew that she was very excited about the session and the photos it would produce. This woman is the epitome of beaming, proud, excited Grandma. This threesome brought a lot of fun an delight into the studio! Susie seemed so excited about the session and about her impending motherhood and it was written very clearly across her whole face and her wide, gorgeous smile couldn’t deny how happy she is.

She is so radiant, isn’t she?
I think Susie’s husband Sean was a little nervous and unsure of what to expect from this photo session, but he finally relaxed and opened up and showed us some of his true, wonderful personality. These two just radiate all of the love and excitement that two soon-to-be parents should and it made our job very easy.

These are the Thank You cards that I created for Susie and Sean to use after all of their baby showers to show their gratitude for all little baby goodies they are bound to receive.

So now, we all patiently wait, until we are able to meet Susie and Sean’s baby boy and hopefully we will have him in the studio sometime very soon!

Sean and Susie’s session was so much fun, here’s a short video from the session in our Aberdeen studio:
